Among the most seductive of all posters is the travel poster. These posters provide you with an image of what awaits you at the end of your journey. All you have to do is hop on a ship, train or plane and you are there! These images span the 20th century, and showcase countries or territories that no longer exist.

The breadth of time covered presents collectors with so many different options by which to collect. Some have chosen to collect only pre WWII posters. By doing so collectors are focusing on lithographs almost exclusively rather than photo offset which dominated the printing process after WWII.

Beginning collectors may choose the post WWII period. Not only because these images tend to be more readily available, but also because they remain highly affordable.
